Introductions.

There is a chill in the air. A silent thrill that is refusing to go unheard. And just as that fog, shrouding me in a thick veil of uncertainty, starts to dissipate, I hear her words. Soft, but hard-hitting nevertheless.

“Um, so about that new blog idea of yours…”

“What about it?” I ask, puzzled.

“Uhh, why don’t you tell me?”

I spring to my feet with a new vigour. The sun is out, the birds are chirping, their trill is clear. The fog, you see, is never of consequence, because as much importance as you give it, the more it comes in your way.

“You know what, Mom. That’s a fantastic idea.”

About:

This blog’s purpose is to assemble my life in bits and pieces; in a hasty compilation of broken stories which carry weight and meaning to me. I wish I could give these stories a genre; or even an emotion. But I can’t.

I mean, sure; I can promise a bit of sardonic humour, at best; but the unpredictability of where life will take me teaches me not to make any promises.

But a few constants that time itself cannot take away from me, are my muses. I present to you; all the inspirations in my life which have left me broken, and reeling, and in pure agony. I present to you, A Chlamydia List, an assemblage of lovingly named factors that push me over every edge, and over every hurdle that comes my way.

The name itself, is a shameless reference to the Netflix series Lovesick, which follows the story of Dylan, who is diagnosed with the STD; and must then recall his every special someone; every single one. This blog is a collection of all my special someones and somethings. Someday, even every single one of them.

A Chlamydia List.

So these inspirations, whether human or not, basically ensure that I’d never run out of content for WordPress in a million years. So, thank them, really.

If you ever feel like grabbing a dose of young love; and teen angst; and every drama that high school brings with it, you’ve stumbled upon the right place. This blog, however aptly named, should always be your go-to website; your happy place; to discover what it’s like to be young again.

Vent, discover, relate. I think that’s what this blog is all about. But again, more importantly, abandoning Riverdale for teen drama needs is a must; you deserve better.

Maybe a few years down the line, I’ll look back and smile or shed a few tears. Maybe the ghosts of days gone by will continue to haunt me through these little posts of mine; and just maybe, on the hunt for a few emotions, I’ll find myself.

Or not.

Okay, for the last time, I don’t care what you meant, Ma. This Introductions post on A Chlamydia List, which definitely is my new blog and baby, is happening now; whether you like it or not. Thanks for the inspiration and all.

  1. Nice introduction, a great way to get started! I totally get you wanting to vent it all out. Because I’ve done it in my blog as well, although I’ve been VERY discrete and at first glance nobody will realise that it was my personal painful experience that made me write all that. Looking forward to your ‘rants’, bro!

    1. Ohmygod, thank you so, so much!
I will eventually get around to a Sunshine Blogger post, and I love that you even thought of me so early on in my blogging journey!
But I think I really want to find my feet in this blogging world I’m so new to; and I don’t want to lose sight of what my blog is really all about so early on. (and plus like, commitment issues)
Don’t get me wrong, I will get around to it; and I love and appreciate you so much for this nomination; but yeah, soon. It’ll be soon.

      1. Take your time… The idea is to write to satiate your senses… your soul. It’s not a competition.. so no rushing. My nomination too came as a pleasant shocker and I took a week to get to it.

I just want to say that whatever little you’ve posted so far, it holds a promise for a lot of beautiful things coming from you…I clearly see that in your writing style and hence nominated you. 😊

  3. Okay, but I’ve gotto say this… MAN, YOU’VE GOT A GREAT STYLE… I feel like I’ve been watching the whole thing as a movie and not merely reading words dazedly swimming over the page ( to say)- it’s just so vivid… I’m definitely going to follow up for more… this is just. AMAZING.

  4. That has to be by far one of the most intriguing About Section I’ve read in a long time, which in turn made it one interesting first post. Loved your easy breezy style and yet you said it all. Am hooked already ! Following you to read more of your musings.

  5. I enjoy your writing! I feel the angst of youth! Oh how I miss it, but I don’t think I would go back if given the opportunity. Keep up the perfect combination of humor, sarcasm, and insight.
